Like “Hearts and Thoughts”, the memories of older shows start to fade … fade away. But we at TwoFeetThick always hold out hope that some of the unanswered questions of the early days will one day be answered.
One of those mysteries was solved this week when fan Derek Stewart contacted us and let us know that he had received the a setlist for the February 24, 1995 Taipei, Taiwan show from an unknown former crew member. How cool is this - it’s the week of the 20th anniversary of that show happening!. Thanks Derek!
The setlist itself is a standard crew setlist, with markings for instruments and instrument tuning, and even checkmarks next to songs played. Without a tape or video to verify, we will take the songs listed as actually played, and have included the switch of “Rearviewmirror” with “Satan’s Bed”, listed as “Already in Love”. The last 3 songs are not checked, but it’s a safe bet they were played.

notes: With an unusual start, Ed is carried onto the stage wrapped in a silk blanket, from which he emerges wearing a fly mask. A Chinese woman accompanies the band onto the stage for the encore and explains (translates) that Ed is still feeling ill. Security was very restrictive with this extremely excited crowd. “Lukin” is listed on the setlist as “100 Pacer (w/Lukin)” and “New Song” is most likely “I Got Shit”.

The interesting historical aspect of the Taipei, Taiwan, show is that it was most recent show in Pearl Jam’s history that fans did know the setlist of. We now have to go all the way back to August 17, 1993, to the last known “official” show where fans do not know the setlist. Got any info on that?
